About Katrina Kuzyszyn-Jones, Psy.D.

I recognize each client brings an individual set of needs and desires to the experience of therapy. I am sensitive to these personal factors while helping my clients identify and focus on the specific problems that are affecting them in their daily lives.

My experience spans the breadth of mental health issues, to include working with individuals who are coping with common daily stressors and life challenges, to people coping with severe mental illness and substance use. With training in multiple research based practice models, I utilize an integrative treatment approach to ensure maximum effectiveness.

In addition to my therapy experience, I also have extensive experience in psychological, educational, and forensic assessment. I conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for AD/HD, learning disorders, behavioral issues, addictions, and diagnostic clarification.

My area of specialization in Forensic Psychology includes a background in criminal, civil and family law. I have a Masters in Forensic Psychology as well as a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. This permits me to conduct a wide variety of court-ordered evaluations such as child custody and parental competency, criminal mental status and competency, violence risk assessment, sexual offender risk assessment, immigration, disability, and adoption readiness. I have experience working with individuals who have traumatic brain injuries and mental retardation.

My background in forensics also allows for a unique perspective on family law issues. I provide consultations to individuals regarding decision making and emotional issues related to divorce. I am able to meet with families to discuss developmentally appropriate parenting plans. I am also a certified Parent Coordinator.

In addition to my psychology practice, I teach courses in General Psychology and Abnormal Psychology.
